SQL Server 2017 Support for On-Premise CRM 2016

I have tried installing it using a SQL Server 2017 server and I receive the following error during the installation process:

The feature: "Scale-Out Deployment" is not supported in this edition of Reporting Services. (rsOperationNotSupported)

Any information would be much appreciated. If it means I need to spin up a 2016 server then I guess I must,

As per documentation the latest compatible version sql server for dynamics crm 2016 is -

Microsoft SQL Server 2016, with Cumulative Update 2 (CU2)
