Flow: Add condition to check if owner is team or user

A typical request is to send an email notification when a record is assigned to a new owner.
And with
classic workflows you can easy add a condtion to check if the new owner is a user or a team.

Now I would like to create a similar flow with Power Automate, and would like to distinguish between if the owner of a record is a team or owner.
How do you add a condition og expression to a flow to check if the type of owner is a user ?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Dorthe,

In the flow, we can distinguish the type of owner through the field Owner(Type).

Add the condition step, enter the first value, search the dynamics value "owner", you will see the field Owner(Type), choose it.

Then enter the second value, type systemusers.

In this way, when the new owner is a user, then the condition result is ture.

When the the new owner is a team, then the condition result is false.

    Hi Hao,

Thanks for the input, but I already tried it - and I just tested it a second time. This condition is not working, and since it will be just "false", I don't get an error message when testing.

    Hi Dorthe,

We should use Common Data Service connector insted of Common Data Service (current environment) connector.

The Common Data Service (current environment) connector currently does not support identifying the owner type, so the connector of the trigger must be Common Data Service.

    Hi Hao,

Thanks for the tip, but I am looking for a solution where I can use The Common Data Service (current environment) connector.

    Best regards,

    Dorthe

    Hi Dorthe,

I'm afraid that this is not possible with the Common Data Service (current environment) connector.

As stated in my last reply, the current Common Data Service (current environment) connector does have the defect that it cannot recognize the owner type.

I'm not sure if this is a bug, I'll ask the member at Power Automate team or raise a support ticket to determine it.

    Hi Hoa,

Thanks for guiding me in the right direction :-)

Now I finally cracked the nut... by adding a "Get Record" and with Compose function get the Owner Type and then set the condition "Outputs is equal to systemuser"

Owner Type is equal to systemuser worked for me (not systemusers)
