Installing GP 2013 R2 - No Update happened

Dear

I downloaded GP 2013 R2 because i am interested in the Built-in purchase requisition , and after i ran the set up, it followed through to the end but as if nothing happened.

The version build remained the same and GP didn't actually route me to the GP Utilities to update the database,

are their any special instruction for GP 2013 R2 Installation?

We've attempted an upgrade to R2. However, if you don't use the Web client it is fairly straight forward.

Backup Dynamics \ Company DBs

Run the Update msp, under R2 Install Disk\Update Folder (and any additional Updates required)

Run GP Utilities, for each installed instance and upgrade the companies.

Launch GP for each installed instance, for it to process SQL Messages.

For additional clients omit the Backups and upgrading companies in the GP utils step.

Web client would appear to require a re-install to get the new identity based security. Currently we're trying to upgrade the web client, which has caused some issues.

I encountered a similar issue when installing GP2013R2 over GP2013. I installed Dynamics GP 2013R2 into a different folder (2013R2) and then pointed the R2 utilities at the Databases and the upgrade began.
