Jolimark TP820 printer does not open the Cash Drawer when transaction is tendered.

Hi all,

I read all the previos discussions about cash drawer and printer problems but none solves my problem. Mz case is the following:

The Problem

When the transaction is tendered the receipt is printed but the cash drawer remains closed. 

Current State

I am using a receipt printer Jolimark TP820 which is connected with the cash drawer (unknown model) through a RJ cable (DK port in the printer). The driver that I installed is the Windows driver of Jolimark TP820. From what I read it needs the OPOS driver in order to make some configurations but Jolimark TP820 does not have OPOS driver. 

- If the problem is the driver, could you please suggest the appropriate OPOS driver? Some people say that it is compatible with the EPSON driver TM-88III is that true? and if yes what configurations do I have to make in order to solve my problem?

-if you know any other solutions to my problem please share.

    are you sure if all hardware are working with each other out side RMS? (cash drawer, Receipt Printer and RJ Cable)

    it is very important to have right cable to match with Printer and Cash drawer

    RMS Clear states If you do not have OPOS compatible drivers, you will not be able to use any peripherals. For more information, contact your hardware's manufacturer

    or you can try with compatible OPOS drive that came with RMS

    you can also give a try which might work, is to go to Printing Properties of the printer and look for cash drawer option and enable open drawer before or after printing

    Check for a drawer open option listed under the advanced settings for the Windows printer driver. If found enable drawer open for page or document start and leave the drawer setting in RMS disabled. Once enabled you can print a test page in the Windows driver and the drawer should open.

    OPOS is not required but provides extra control over when the drawer opens. The Windows driver will open the drawer every time a receipt prints.

    You cannot mix OPOS and Windows driver control. Use one or the other.

    Yes indeed the OPOS driver is not required the Windows driver can do the work. The steps in Windows 7 to solve this problem are the following:

    -Devices and Printers-->right click on the desired printer (Jolimark TP820 in our case)-->printing preferences-->Paper/Quality-->Media:"Cash Drawer Open After Printing" and that's it.
