I am facing issue with certain existing records on Out of Box case entity , where Business Process Flow doesn't populate on certain records.I guess they were created without BPF. But how is it possible?

Things I have checked -

  • BPF populates on Creating New Record. So unable to create records without BPF.
  • Checked other existing records.
  • BPF set to Active State.
  • Exporting and importing records.
  • Refreshed Browser ,cleared cache & browsing history.

Note :- Also I have recently enabled UCI on my environment.

I have the same question (0)

    Hello Shubham,

    I hope you are well.

Try to confirm if Security Roles is define for BPF, which could affected users that do not belong for that role.

    Hi Gustavo,

Thanks for your reply. I have checked the security roles for BPF, not found one. I am able to replicate the issue now though, by creating a record from an Model driven app which doesn't include the BPF. When I open that record in default app (forced UCI) the BPF doesn't show up. Is there a way to set BPF , even if they weren't available on record creation ?

You need to create ondemnd workflow and attach the BPF to existing records.

You can set BPF (or even stages) of the existing records by using the BPF Manager tool. You will have to query those records in FetchXML builder and filter where there is no related BPF record.

Even if the Business Process Flow was not instantiated at record creation, you can manually start a new process by clicking on the "Process" button in the command bar, choosing "Switch Process" and then selecting the desired Business Process Flow you would like to start.

Is there any guide or approach through which instead of manually updating the record, we can automate the activation  and closure of BPF?

This will be helpful for data import scenario
