Qualifying a Lead to Contact without creating opportunity

Hi

I want to qualify a lead to contact without creating an opportunity and I want to do this from the Lead default form. Is it possible. I know that you can do this in code using the QualifyLeadRequest and setting CreateOpportunity to false.

Thanks

    Hi,

I think it is not possible to qualify lead without creating an opportunity from lead form (through customization). But it is possible by writing a pre-validation plugin on "QualifyLead" message and making "CreateOpportunity" to false.

    Hi Mir Hassan,

Using the OOB Lead Form and Qualify button you cannot do that.

However, you can implement a plugin on QualifyLead message of Lead entity to block creation of Opportunity Record.

Here you can find the code snippet

    msdn.microsoft.com/.../microsoft.crm.sdk.messages.qualifyleadrequest.aspx

    For Reference

    msdn.microsoft.com/.../gg334514.aspx

    Hope that helps

    Thanks

Last week, I got the same requirement , ended up with crm dialog. I have hide the CRM provided qualify button. Instead of that added a dialog to qualify the lead with different options as account or contact, contact , ....

Created a custom button in the lead ribbon area to trigger the dialog.
