hello,

is it supported, or even possible, to setup multiple datamarts in mr2012 cu14 with gp 2015 r2?  i'm asking because we have two different gl account structures that cover several companies in gp.  for example for group 1 (6 companies) we have entity-dept-acct (main) and in group 2 (5 different companies) we have entity-acct (main)-dept.  group 1 is primarily managerial reporting with multiple currencies and group 2 is financial reporting all in USD.  The access to these DMs need to be strictly controlled.

    I think the only issue you'd have here is in GP 2015 R2, the companies that Management Reporter pulls in is driven by GP under the Company Setup window.  I'm not sure how the datamarts would know which companies to pull in.  There might be something you can do through the back end but there also may be part of the datamart integration that is constantly checking for the checkbox in GP and adding all databases with a checkbox back in to each datamart.


    If the companies were on separate SQL instances or using separate DYNAMICS databases then this probably would not be an issue.

    Thanks for your reply.  I hadn't thought about using separate instances, but that might work.  I think I'm going to open a support case with MS and see if there is an official word on this, but your's may be the only solution.
