Hi,

I would like to know for the bank account balance why is it different from chart of account bank balance? From COA balance is correct as per our bank statement. But when we check from bank account list the balance is showing different.

From bank account list, the balance is showing USD 149,364.70

From COA side of bank balance is showing USD 156,100.50

There is a difference of USD 6,735.80.

May I know why is this happening? Is there a way that bank account list balance will be showing same as per COA?

Appreciate anyone kind advice on this. Thank you.

The gl account in the bank account posting group is the only way to check things level. You must always use the bank account record and not the gl account. I would make the gl account “Direct Posting” false to avoid this issue. I expect a user has done a journal posting to the gl instead of the bank account

    Candice,

Adding to what Josh replied..  YOU MUST make Direct Posting = FALSE. Then you can check in the General Ledger Entries if an entry was MADE not effecting the Account Type = Bank Account. If you a General Journal is found that only used the G/L, then you have found your difference and can resolve.

    Thanks,

    Steve
