Create and insert a new record from a 3rd party tool - Zapier

I'd like to create a new contact record generated as lead on my website and insert it to Dynamics.

Today i'm using a 3rd party tool named zapier which is exactly built for that.

But for some reason i cant populate a lookup type fields with values. These fields just does not appear on the field list zapier provides and allows populating.

Any ideas how i can solve that?

My suggestion would be to try Microsoft Flow. This is the Microsoft version of Zapier and is free to use with your D365 subscription. The advantage is, that it has pretty good support for Dynamics 365.

    Here's a blog post showing a sample: www.oak3.org/.../easy-contact-form-crm-lead-using-microsoft-flow

If you want to use zapier and set a lookup, you probably need to use a navigation property like this:

    /accounts(2e4c2bce-fb81-4778-b27b-ae88f8e571fb)

Where the Guid is the id of the record.

    Hi Martijn,

Thank you for this insight. Do you have more insight on how this can actually be done on Zapier using dynamic values?

Ive tried to do this with Flow as well, but it seems you have to hardcode the "Item identifier", in order to retrieve the right item.

Aside from this, using Flow, I discovered that we can List all records and use OData Filter to get that items Identifier, but I am getting errors when I get the response.

Any insight on how we can use Zapier or Flow to submit dynamic values to lookup fields in Dynamics CRM
