Posting Deduction in Arrears

I am using the Deduction in the arrears and a employee is out on leave. they pay with a check for there deductions that they missed for not having a paycheck that week. I updated the Transaction to being collected. The problem is that it does not post anything to their year todate history. Should this be happening?
