We are currently using MRP, and are trying to understand Request Resolution. Our items are set up with Fixed Order Quantities and Order Points, we also have lead times established thru our vendor/item relationships and on the item resource planning card.
When we hit our order point quantity we are flagged to order material however the release date is always a past date. Because we just hit our order point the required date is today even though it may take 30 days to get material. We have material to use, we are just ordering for the future because we are flagged.
Then the item keeps appearing in the request resolution because we need the material today, even though we have material to use and we have material on order. Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?

I have the same question (0)MRP will net things out per day so until the product is received, it will say you are short for today. I am assuming you are just getting started or have a slower moving item. Assuming 20 days a month, if the product is used each day with transactions out into the future showing the demand, it will suggest a PO each day. If you use it once a month and have a 1 month lead time, it will say you are short each day until you receive the product. What is used for your demand. If only the Order Point, then you will have to live with the suggestions with the long lead time.
