As new user to GP, I want to avoid re-keying journal entries into GP, and would rather use Excel template to upload into GP.   What is the best way to accomplish this?

If you are on GP 2013 R2 then there is built in functionality for importing from excel now.

Take a look at this blog:  www.crestwood.com/.../copy-and-paste-from-microsoft-excel-to-dynamics-gp

Thanks for the reply.  Unfortunately, we have GP 2013, but not the R2 version.

Do you own Integration Manager?  That would be one way.  There's also SmartConnect by eOne.  And another one I've seen in use awhile back is a free tool found here:  http://di.jo/GPExcelPaste.aspx.

    Jon,

It's painful, but you could use the Table Import Utility - everyone has it, no extra charge. The GP SDK explains the fields you would need to import to the header and distribution tables.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

This tool is remarkable and the company has been around forever. This is actually called “ExcelToGP”.

In addition to GP table import and GP Integration Manager, there is this third-party product http://www.infiniatech.com/home.aspx. This you can use to import multiple journal entries at once plus AP and AR entries. We have many users using this and it works great.

    Hi Jon,

You can use VKonnact for GL import. Through VKonnact you can import 1K (Approx.) GL entries in 60 sec time.

Also, VKonnact has its own data validation engine to validate & Correction data before importing.

You can use VKonnact for 15 days without spending single penny.

    Kind regards,

Can multiple entries be pasted at the same time? If so please guide me on how to paste them all at once.

My issue is that I have about 315 entries that are unbalanced due to a system error and need to add the salary expense G/L account number to each one. If you have any ideas on how to resolve this issue please help me.
