CRM 2016 and Dynamics 365 On-premises

Hello,

I am getting a little bit confused about CRM 2016 and Dynamics 365 on premises. It looks like that Dynamics 365 is the service pack 8.2, does it mean that Dynamics 365 can be install as service pack update without following a full organization upgrade ?

Thanks

Simone

    Hi

    Yes it would be applied as a SP (they will all be going forward)

    However I would still go through a backup and test deployment before putting it live

    When installing CRM 365 on premises are the ERP (AX, NAV, ...) features included?

    but there are also a lot of limitations with on premise dynamics 365 you wont get a lot of the features online users will get. You can see the following comparison that gives you a better breakdown of the differences between dynamics 365 online Vs onpremise;

    Hi Mark,

    Would you be able to tell me if the licencing is the same?  i.e. we had 2016 server (8.1) installed and working, ran Windows update and now have Dynamics 365 (8.2) on premise!  Shocking heart stopping moment seeing that after the 'update' from the builtin Windows update tool!!
