PO line default location with Advanced warehouse setup

Dear all,

I would appreciate your tip if someone know how to insert the default location in the PO line or the journal line using advanced warehouse.

We’re using the Advanced warehouse configuration and receiving goods through Arrival overview functionality, in this phase of the project our customer is working only with one location in the warehouse, so we would like to define it as default.

If we didn’t were using the advanced warehouse, I would insert it the default location in the “Default issue location” of the warehouse, so the system would bring it in the PO line. This field is unavailable with Advanced warehouse.

I’ve tried to insert the location in the “Default receipt location” but the system does not insert it in the journal lines.

I’ve also tried to insert the default location in the item - Released product/ Manage inventory/ Warehouse items but didn’t worked. This option I would use only if it is not possible to insert in the warehouse level, because of quantity of setup without point.

I believe you are going to need to create a customization for this. The default receipt location in Advanced warehouse is set via the mobile device I don't know of a way to populate this on the journals.

hi Pierre,

Do know that Arrival overview was designed for basic warehouses specifically. It doesn't mean that you can't use it for Advanced warehouse in simplistic warehouse. Here is what you should do this to get it to work

Create [tag:PO], location is not defaulted (as expected in Advanced warehouse).

Go to arrival overview. Enter warehouse and location. Select the PO/lines that you want to process.

Item arrival journal created and the journal now has lines populated "RECV". Now let's take it one step further and see if we can avoid having user enter this location.

For this to work, click on "Arrival overview profiles" and edit the query there and save it.

Next time, based on profile selection, the warehouse / location is automatically populated. Hope this help resolve your problem.
