Populate data in Power BI based on CRM Online user security roles

Hi,

Is it possible to populate the BI reports and charts on Power BI based on the user security role in Dynamics CRM. For example, if I'm the System Administrator on CRM and I create the Power BI reports and dashboards, of course I will be able to analyze the whole organizational data available on CRM, however if I share my Power BI dashboard with a sales person (who in CRM, is eligible to only see his records), must only see the reports based on the records he has access to in CRM and not everything.

To put it in other words, as I system administrator role on CRM I create the reports and dashboards on Power BI and I can see the Sales Pipeline of all the Sales executives in the organization, but if I share this dashboard with on of the sales executive, he should only see his sales pipeline.

Is this possible with Power BI? Does Power BI inherit the security roles from CRM and show only relevant data? Can this be achieved in Power BI? If yes, then how?

Thank you,

    Hi,

It is not possible to show the data in power bi like CRM security role. As of now, it is not possible. Hopefully in future it may come into picture.

    Thanks for pointing out Mansoor,

Here's an excerpt from the blog post which clarifies the question I asked.

"What should a Dynamics CRM customer keep in mind when planning the future use cases for these new dashboards? For starters, there’s most likely not going to be a convenient way to filter the available data based on the CRM security model, on the same fine grained level of business units, security roles, record sharing, access teams, field level security and all the other features that are built into the functionality available within the Dynamics CRM application."
