What happens to the inventory when a transaction is put on hold?
Does it show as allocated somehow?
Does it move the quantity any where in the system?
One of our stores has a long list of transactions on hold. I want to find out if inventory discrepancies we've been experiencing could be related to all the old hold transactions.
I've run a few tests that seem to show that it doesn't affect the inventory until it is recalled and cashed out but i need to be sure. Any details about what the program does with inventory regarding holds will help.

You are very right,Transaction on hold doesn't affect inventory until you complete the transaction.Quantity discrepancies are brought by either of the following:
-open purchase orders
-Partially received purchase orders
-open transfer in and out
-partially received transfer in and out
-offline inventory
