Adding Today's Date on Email Templates

Hi, I'm trying to add Today's Date on an email template that I'm creating for a Lead. I've already looked at this thread: community.dynamics.com/.../75232.aspx and don't have the "Process" or "Execution Time" in the Data Values Available.

This is an email template for a Lead, and the only record types available are User and Lead.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

-David

    Hi,

I think the only option you have is to create a custom attribute on the lead that you set today's date, and then use it in the email template. There may be ways of setting in dynamically through a plugin that is registered on Retrieve, but this is likely to be quite involved technically.

    Hope this helps,

    Scott

    David,

How is the email being sent by the user?

If the email is being sent after the lead is open and the user clicks send email then chooses the template, I would create a new attribute on the lead and then use a javascript web resource to set the new attribute to todaysDate when the lead form is open. After that, I would include the new lead attribute where desired in the email template.

    Let me know this helps!

    Hi Shane,

    Apologies for the late answer...

The email is being sent via a Process Workflow

Your suggestion sounds like it would work...

How do I access the JavaScript Web Resource Manager for CRM 2013?

I only see deprecated information for CRM 2011

    Thanks!

The approach Scott recommended is the solution.  In the workflow that is sending the email, first set a custom field on the Lead record to today's date and then consume that value in the email that follows.
