Already sent email is being received by the user again and again

Hi All,

We are facing a strange issue here. There is one email which was sent from CRM. The status of  this email is Sent. However, the No. of delivery attempts field keeps increasing and the recipient has received too many emails. The attempts count is now more than 2000. Did anyone face the same issue? If yes, what is the solution?

    I've had this many times in our production enviorment, my work around was to convert the email to draft, this stopped the outgoings.

    On a side note - I think CRM 2016 on-prem and D365 on-Prem are the same product  - very interesting about that update though

    Hi Mansoor,

    This is not D365, its MS CRM 2016 (mentioned in the tags). I had to cancel the email to fix this. But not sure about the origin of this issue.

    Vikas,

    "Server Side Synchronization sends the same email repeatedly every 30 minutes.".

    Microsoft fixed this issue by applying update 2.2 for on-premise D365.

    Please install and see.

    Hi Ravi,

    I was also thinking of deleting the email. However, we are in productions environment so I was thinking of setting the email to draft so that no more emails are generated.

    Have you checked the process sessions to check if workflow is triggering multiple times for same record?

    Hi Vika,

    I ran into the same issue once but couldn't figure out the cause. We had to delete that email from the system to stop. Lunckily in our case it was a dv environment so id didn't matter much. We tried to reproduce it in prod but couldn't not even with the same process, people, everything same.

    It didn't ever happen though.

    We are sending the email through a workflow, but how does that matter? As I have mentioned, there is only one email record and the delivery attempts are increasing. The receiving end is having multiple emails not CRM.

    This email address is unique or it is repeating for many contacts ?

    Hi Vikas,

    Seems the triggering of email is running in infinite loop. So you may check the triggering point  , may be plugin depth .

    How you are sending emails? Is it through workflow or plugin?
