Permission to click on a lookup field hyperlink

Hi, in a Case entity our customer wants to allow agents to associate the case to a customer (account or contact), read information from the customer using for example ODATA to fill in fields like e-mail, phone numbers and so on,  but our Customer don't want to allow agents to see other customer details when click on the hyperlink in the customer field which is a lookup control. Hyperlink should be disabled or if enabled should display something like a Permission Denied message. Is there any way to do this only with security roles? Our Customer don't want to implement Role based forms.

We are working with CRM Online 2016 Update 1

Best regards,

Xavier Villafuerte

When they select the customer from the lookup (lookup view) they can click the link and see the details.

Did you consider using Field level security for the fields of the customer?

Thanks Gopalan but field security is not an option. We don't have access to the account or contact form because it is being customized by other vendor, so we need to implement this from the Case side or by a security role.

For reference of anyone reading this post, I ended hiding the lookup, creating another text field and with javascript copying the Name of the lookup to the text field which I set as read only.
