Font rendering issues

Cordia New Font rendering issues occur in one environment while functioning correctly in another, despite both environments belonging to the same tenant.
I have the same question (1)

    Hi,

Font rendering issues usually happen because the font isn’t available on the server where the report runs. Even if both environments are in the same tenant, they might use different service tiers or regions.
If you’re using RDLC or Word layouts, the font must be embedded in the report. If it’s not embedded, the system substitutes it with a default font, which causes differences.
    Fix:
    > For SaaS: Use standard fonts (Arial, Calibri) or embed the font in the layout.
    > For On-Prem: Install the font on all service tiers.

    Thanks
    Rishabh

Hi, What exactly is the problem? I checked the supported fonts and Cordia New is on the supported list. Can you provide some screenshots?

    Thanks

I’m still trying to understand why the Cordia New font—although officially listed as available for use in RDL report layouts—has begun to exhibit rendering issues. It was working fine previously, so the fact that this problem only surfaced this week is quite unexpected.

    Hi.

I have the same problem on a customer's environment (BC 26.5 on-cloud) both sandbox and production. I think I used the supported font in RDLC report already (we used Angsana New font). My colleague mentioned that the RDLC report worked fine yesterday (7th Oct 2025).  The problem just happened today.
Another two customers also reported the same problem to my colleague.

I tried to upload the current RDLC report layout to BC to test and get this error.

If requesting support, please provide the following details to help troubleshooting:

    Error message:
Errors were detected in the RDLC layout:
Invalid font family: the font 'Angsana New' is not installed.
    ...
    AL call stack:

"Report Layouts Impl."(CodeUnit 9660).InsertNewLayout line 124 - Base Application by Microsoft version 26.5.38752.40406
"Report Layouts Impl."(CodeUnit 9660).CreateNewReportLayout line 26 - Base Application by Microsoft version 26.5.38752.40406
    "Report Layouts"(Page 9660)."NewLayout - OnAction"(Trigger) line 5 - Base Application by Microsoft version 26.5.38752.40406

The font seemed to be disappeared for no reasons.
The workaround is to change the font in RDLC to "Tahoma" and upload the updated RDLC to BC (for reports that users urgently need them). However, we don't want to adjust ALL reports which were working OK before.
If you know the root cause of the missing fonts and permanent solution, please help sharing the information.

    Thank you in advance,
    Kay.

    Hi,

MS has already fixed this issue.
    Thanks,
    Kay.
