Microsoft Dynamics SL (Archived)

SL 7.0 (FP1?) to SL 2015 - Any documentation on how and specifically must I pass through SL 2011?

Client who has been paying maintenance but not updating now want to (Server 2003 EoL) upgrade as part of a migration to a hosted DC.  Wanted to ask if anyone has:

1) Knowledge or resources for this version to version upgrade
2) If I can jump 2011 and if so what conditions need to be present to do so?
3) If I cannot jump 2011 see item one above.

    I recently upgraded from 6.5 to 2015

    installed new application

    ran data maintenance to upgrade db

    ran without error

    minor maintenance due to changes in user security

    Install management reporter to replace frx

    skipping prev versions not an issue

    Thanks for the information.  I knew the guide says it can be done but that doesn't warn you about the traps or similar.

    To make sure I understand your process.

    1) Fresh install of 2015 on server.

    2) Attach copy of 7.0 SL DB's to new SQL server (if old SQL in your case full backup first)

    3) Run DB maintenance to fix schema, SP's, and whatever else task does.

    4) Fix user security after doing workstation install

    5) Install MR and convert FRx reports.

    6) Pop a cold one and enjoy.

    if you have any custom reports, they will need to be updated for 2015
