I am having trouble printing labels onto Avery laser address labels. I have tried using 3 different Avery label types which are listed in Label Samples in label designer. With all 3 the printing starts above the edge of the first row of labels, and gets worse down the page so that by the last labels the item number has run off into the label above it. I have tried adjusting the page margins but without any change in printing. Please help!
I have also tried reformatting the label in designer to lower the label contents to center cell alignment, but I cannot recall a saved label designer in label wizard. Help?

Often, if the printing seems to be 'going south', there is an issue with gap detection setting on your printer properties. On our TEC printers, for example, the Sensor setting has to be set to Transmissive (rather than Reflective) and the sensor has to be positioned correctly. This is more reliable tha trying to set the label height exactly right.
I had a similar issue. I use Microsoft RMS 1.3 refresh 1 so I hope this helps. I use avery 5160 labels. I found that I had to adjust my printer settings. I have a Lexmark laser printer for my labels, and the default caused my labels to be off like yours. I realized the printer was set on default, but there is a preset in there called labels which works perfectly. I would try playing with the printer settings, go into the print properties before you print. I hope this helps.
Oh, I forgot to mention, if you are using an older version of RMS, the default save folder for labels is incorrect. Look carefully when saving to make sure you direct your save to the correct folder .../Labels. This confused the heck out of me for a while as I wondered why my changes were not working, then I realized my changed formats were being saved elsewhere and not overwriing the current lable.

It sounds lke the label height is also incorrect, that is why the problem gets worse as you go. When all else fails, get out the ruler and measure the labels amd margins and set them manually. With a little tweaking you should be able to get it to work. The lable designer is VERY basic and a pain in the neck to use, but it does work. We use lots of custom labels for shelf tags, price tags, sale tags and more.
