SQL 2012?

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Now that SQL 2012 has been supported in RMS 2.0 for a little over a year, does anyone have any first hand experiences? Are there any noteworthy bugs or disadvantages to upgrading from SQL 2008R2 to SQL 2012 or is it good to go?

Thank you in advance.

    Hi Josh,

Last year we rescued a RMS SO 2.0.126 Server with SQL Express 2008R2 and upgraded to Win 7 Pro 64bit with SQL Express 2012, so far so good no complains

Just make sure you have SQL 2005 Backward compatibility installed on all stations

I upgraded to SQL 2012 recently.  Depending on your current version of RMS you might have to install the RMS CU5 update to work with 2012.  Also you will have to upgrade the database in SO Admin after the install.  Pretty simple.  No issues as of yet.
