bulk email via Exchange Online

I am generating large mailshots by selecting recipients in CRM Online, creating a mailmerge and then sending out via Exchange Online. This gets blocked by the Exchange Online limitation of 1500 emails per user per day. Exchange Online can work round this using Distribution groups, but these are based on Exchange properties. My recipient list is created using CRM properties and changes with each query.

Can anyone recommend a way to overcome this limitation?

Many thanks

Allan Bury, Interezia

Yep...configure Email Router on your side and send the emails through it...here is a blog post that details the steps to get this done:

    Good Luck!

Hi Gus. Many thanks for the suggestion and detailed response. Just a couple of questions - at present everything is online. Can the email router be installed onto one of the PCs that is running as a CRM client? Would this also work if the email merge is generated from a client in a different location, but using the same CRM Online?

    Thanks, Allan

    Allan,

The email router cannot be installed on a machine with Outlook because one of the pre-requisites to install the email router is ExchangeMapiCDO wich as it turns out cannot be installed on a machine with outlook.

Since the email router is not a highly intensive process, you can install it on a virtual machine and run it locally on a server or a machine locally within your network.

    Does that make sense?

    Thank you, Gus

That looks like a good solution. Thanks for your advice. I have a way forward now.
