Management Reporter 3 entities per 1 legal entity in Dynamics GP

Dear

In Management Reporter when i open the "companies" i find 3 companies for each of my Dynamics GP entities

CompanyName
CompanyName-AA
CompanyName-Curr

What is the different between CompanyName and CompanyName-Curr

for example

for my legal entity TTP you can find

TTP
TTP-AA
TTP-Curr

Which adapter are you using for MR?Data Mart? or Legacy?

I think, CompanyName is coming from Data Mart Adapter and CompanyName-Curr is coming from Legacy adapter.

I think, you have tried to use both adapter in MR previously. Please remove the company and re-import, that will only import based on the adapter which is currently configured on your MR.

Note: Before deleting, take a backup of management reporter/datamart database and export all the building blocks and the delete and re-reimport the companies.

Allow me to provide a quick insight on Management Reporter and Dynamics GP. Management reporter deployment could have one of two options, either the Legacy or Data Mart. The question is, what is the difference between the two.

MR initially was introduced with the legacy installation, which is the traditional that is no more recommended by Microsoft, data exists in dynamics GP company and is retrieved directly. For this deployment, the configuration console of the MR, shows a company called "current" for the financial data, while it shows another company "Analytical Accounting" for the analytical financial data once the Analytical Accounting is activated.

In this essence, for your company (TTP), you have already had a legacy deployment which is why you find:

TTP-Currr (for the financial data)

TTP-AA (for the analytical accounting data)

The other integration type between Dynamics GP and management reporter is the "Data Mart", which is the recommended option for better performance and more optimized financial reporting. In Data mart deployment, you will find only one company in the configuration console of the management reporter which is in your case:

TTP

Despite of the fact that two options are available, the legacy deployment would stop being supported, according to what is mentioned in the "Management Reporter Guide for Dynamics GP"

So if you are still on the shore starting your very early steps, go for the data mart deployment which is the TTP company.

Hey Mahmoud

thank you very much for the elaborate explanation, it is really an eye opener.

So in my situation if i want to switch to Data Mart do i have to un-install the current environment and reinstall it , or is there another way to go at it ?

Is this above the reason why i can't view 2015 transaction , because the fiscal year 2014 is not yet closed? is this one of downside to the legacy installtion

Remove the "Integration" from the Configuration Console. This will omit the TTP-Curr and TTP-AA
