As far as I know you cannot register this message on the systemuser. It is because the limitation of modifying RetrieveMultiple messages to manage the system performance. Read the below article:

    docs.microsoft.com/.../limit-registration-plugins-retrieve-retrievemultiple

If you tell us your requirement, someone can come up with a workaround to meet your requirements.

Due to system limitation we can't register the step on system user entity for RetriveMultiple message. Please let us know your requirement. So that we can look for some work around solution.

As mentioned above as well Retrieve Multiple is unsupported for System User. Only messages supported for System user entity are Create SetState & Update.

You cna share your requirement here to get some alternate workarounds.

    Hope this helps.

That is the RetrieveMultiple request not the plugin messages.

There is an excel file within the SDK tools which contains the list of messages entity supports. You can download the SDK from here and check-

    www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx

We have a requirement to modify the fields in active users view. As Retrieve multiple message is not supported for System user entity, Can anyone suggest alternative solution for it.

When I see this, I think user interface.  I don't get why you are approaching the customization of a view from the server side (plugin.)  Isn't this sort of thing better accomplished by formContext.getControl().addCustomView() in client-side javascript?

ps- I have discovered that only IE & Edge support this functionality -- not Chrome nor FireFox -- in CE v.9
