system message 6073 Segment vendor id not found

We have just installed a new company is SL 7. I have been able to put 5 vendor in thru vendor maintenance. When I try to put the 6th one in I get a system message 6073 Segment Vendor ID not found, please reenter. How do I fix this?

You may want to check your flexkey definition (under shared information) for vended since this is a new application database to make sure it conforms to your vendor id scheme. Perhaps this 6th vendor ID does not conform to that definition.
