Missing Purchase Order Lines in BYOD

Hi all,

As a BI developer I am trying to utilize Purchase Order data to solve company specific requirements related to cost price.

I am currently looking at the entity "Open purchase price journal lines". The issue I have is that this entity is missing purchase orders for certain products after exporting to BYOD which, according to our Master data people, exists within Dynamics.

I am trying to understand if I am looking at the wrong entity (this is not a custom entity), or if there may be some reasons to why this entity is not populated in all cases.

My access within Dynamics is very limited as I am basically just an end user setting up my own exports. Any and all help would be much appreciated.

Best,

Ole

    Hi Ole,

Open purchase price journal lines is the entity for purchase trade agreements.

If you need purchase order data, you should take a look at Purchase order lines V2 entity (PurchPurchaseOrderLineV2Entity), but it doesn't show purchase orders with type return order and journal.

The entity for purchase order's are two i.e. Purchase order headers V2 for PO headers, and Purchase order lines V2 for PO lines. The target entities for both are PurchPurchaseOrderHeaderV2Entity, PurchPurchaseOrderLineV2Entity.

The "Open purchase price journal lines" are used to import or export the price agreement journals.

    Hi Sergei,

    Thanks for the reply!

I was initially told that Open purchase price journal lines contained Trade agreements (which also has potential to solve my company's requirements). However, I have found that the data I was able to export to BYOD was missing several trade agreement entries our master data people was able to see within the dynamics portal. So I got terrible confused about what I was actually looking at.

Do you know any reason that might explain these missing entries in BYOD?

(The products in question have been in the system for years so it should not be a question of time delay in the exports)

    Hi Ole,

Unfortunately, it's not clear what information you are looking for as trade agreements and purchase order lines are completely different things.

Open purchase price journal lines also points to not posted trade agreements lines (draft data). Maybe you need to take a look at Purchase price agreements (PurchasePriceAgreementEntity) - it contains posted information about trade agreements

    Hi Sergei,

Your input here is much appreciated! I am quite new to the D365 system, and mainly have an IT background so this is a big learning experience for me.

The issue I am helping resolve is to obtain a best estimate for cost price for retail products. Preferably including timestamps for the various prices. Due to the system in place at our company this has proven difficult to solve, mainly because of multiple vendors operating with different prices for the same products.

Suggestions from colleagues and other sources have prompted me to look into both trade agreement data and purchase orders as possible sources to produce this estimate.

My role at this point is basically mapping the available information, and my head is swimming with a lot of input from various sources at the moment.
