Hello,

I am trying to add some text and our company phone number to the sop blank invoice form. I added the text using the text button in the modify reports screen (not a word template) just the standard.

It shows up on the modify reports screen but when i go to print through dynamics the changes i made does not show up on the invoices?

Any suggestions?

Also,

When i run the invoice from a customer to the screen and then click modify, I can see the changes on the invoice in the modify mode but they do not show up when actually printing

You need to grant yourself (and others) access to the modified Report in

Microsoft Dynamics GP >> Tools >> Setup >> System >> Alternate/Modified Forms and Reports

Not sure how to navigate the next screen (alternate/modified forms and reports ) to set it up properly.

hi pwk88

you pick the user category - most likely default user the product and type. Modified reports in the dictionary are then displayed.

You can then open the plus sign to grant or deny access to the report.

Your question has other implications. Are you using a shared report dictionary? If not you likely need to share the reports.dic file with others by saving to the network and changing the dynamics.set file to point at the network file.

Are there people who should not print the modified report but still print invoices? Do you exclude them by not giving them the dictionary, or by not granting them access, i.e. they are no longer a default user.

1. Go to User Security window (Microsoft Dynamics GP-->Tools-->Setup-->System-->User Security).

2. Enter the user id and company name for accessing modified report.

3. After choose company name, then the Alternate/Modified Forms and Reports ID will be automatically fetched to the field Alternate/Modified Forms and Reports ID.

4. Now, click the Alternate/Modified Forms and Reports ID zoom button to open the Alternate/Modified Forms and Reports window.

5. In this window follow the steps suggested by Ian to give access to your modified reports.

Hi!

Another 'gotcha' you may be running into is that you are not putting your modification in both the Report Header and Page Header sections. If you just open the report layout in Report Writer, the page header is at the top of the report. The Report header is in the section below it. If you have a report that needs more than one page, the Page Header will print on the second and subsequent pages, but for a one page report, you will get only the Report Header.

Did you make your changes in both sections?
