Which webservice (page) do I need to use to read and "post" serialnumbers in the outputjournal for productionorders?

Hello,

I have made a webservice for the outputjournal in Business Central and it works fine. I can "post"/import new lines.

I also have products that require a serialnumber to be tracked. In the output journal when you have an endproduct ready, you can go to lines and generate or manually fill in the new produced serial number by clivking Item Tracing Lines. See below

It also states in (when I have inspect page and data) that this is a temporary datatable..

I want to "post"/import the (new) serialnumbers also with the webservice? How do I do that?

I tried already to make a new webserivce for page 6510, but then it gives an empty result even when there are lines filled in. See below.

Can you help me? What am I doing wrong?

    Hello,

If you do not get further response from the Community, we currently do not have dedicated Dev support via the Dynamics 365 Business Central forums, but I wanted to provide you some additional resources to assist.  If you need assistance with debugging or coding I would recommend discussing this on one of our communities.

I will open this up to the community in case they have something to add.

    Thanks.

Item Tracking specification page is based on a temporary table, so you cannot directly use it via WS for assigning serial numbers. For handling this is much better to create a custom codeunit that does the work and call it from as ws from the external app.

An item tracking code reflects the different considerations a company has regarding the use of serial and lot numbers for items moving through the inventory.

Choose the Search for Page or Report icon, enter Item Tracking Codes, and then choose the related link.

    Choose the New action.

Fill in the fields as necessary. Choose a field to read a short description of the field or link to more information.

On the Serial No. and the Lot No. FastTabs, define policies of item tracking by serial and lot numbers respectively.

    Hi Stefano,

Thank you for your answer! Too bad it isn't possible. I was wondering, in more and more industries and sectors tracking and tracing is needed and a demand. When you want to link systems and data on  Item tracking numbers this only can be done with customizations in Business Central. Is there any view on this becoming a standard?

My customer wants BC SAAS.  Would you recommend to build these customizations on Business Central SaaS? Or do you think it is a high risk with the monthly updates? An app in appsource is a few bridges too far for us.

    Thank you in advance!
