Currency rollup field not disabled

I'm seeing some strange behaviour with a currency rollup field.  I'm used to rollup fields being locked down by default, which makes sense.  But I've just created a new currency rollup field and it's not disabled, I can actually type text into the field.  It doesn't affect the value of the currency field, and you can still refresh the field as normal.

Is this normal behaviour for a currency rollup, and if so why?

    it's not a normal behavior, it's a bug.

Please write down your exact CRM version and you should check if there is an update (or an update has been installed recently inside your crm instance)

Thanks Guido.  Yep, the affected CRM is the latest version 8.2.2.112, no updates pending.  We have another CRM on the previous version 8.2.1.176 where we don't get the problem.
