Problem with Copy Item

Getting this error now while trying to copy an item

It always gets another item and not the one that I try to copy.

This happens only in one of the Company profile and not in the others.

The function copy was working fine but at some point it stayed "fixed" in Item "A" and no matter which Item I try to copy teh source item is always "A" and not the one that i pretend to copy

Any ideas on what is going on and how can be solved?

16.4 Saas according the current plan start to apply from 07-Aug.

If speak about workaround... in theory you can done PTE extension that play with codeunit 730 "Copy Item" \ OnBeforeOnRun

// better wait 16.4 update and not use this new feature for a few weeks

Hello Frank,

Thank you for raising this to us via a support ticket. I did track this number into our internal systems and noticed my colleague did already provide you with an approved code change for OnPrem. So the scenario is resolved there, but not yet in SaaS. It is scheduled to be included in v16.4 for SaaS environments if everything does go as planned of course.

Currently we are working on upgrading the majority of tenants from v16.2 to v16.3, so you do have whereabouts of that fix for SaaS.

Already reported, has been fixed and will be part of BC 16 CU4 (change log 364268)

One of our customer has the same problem with BC16 online (v 16.3). One user has this issue, not all users.

Hi Steve

Thanks for your comments. We are checking with our Partner to see why are unable to solve this. Is happening not only with me as end user, but with any other end user in the system.

There is no filter on the page. Sadly that is not the source.

I hope we find soon that it is and I will post a comment here.

Good Evening,

I have not seen this issue. I did test in BC v16 and BC v14 version I have running. Both worked from the Item Card/Actions/Functions/Copy Item (as shown below). I entered a new Item No. and clicked those fields I wanted copied from the sub-tables. My new Item was created.

What version of NAV or BC are you running? My only other thought is somehow someone has set a filter on the Page and since the field Source Item No. is grayed out you cannot change it. If you can have your developer or Partner look at the Page and field it could be the source of the problem.
