Dear Madam/Sir,
 
Does D365 F&O have a standard excess inventory report?
A report which shows you which part of the inventory is not expected/planned to be consumed in x number of days?
 
I would assume that if you use Masterplanning, the system has a clear idea on the demand and supply and should be able to produce a tailored excess inventory report.
I have not found anything which points in that direction, which strikes me a bit odd, since this is a standard type of report for any supply chain/sales organization.

    Hy,
    this is called inventiry aging report, you can find ist on the /Cost management/Inqueries and reports/Inventory aging report storage/ (or even value report).
    Define your query with the desired periods and with an "as of dare" to have a view to the furture as well as to the past transactions.
     
    The reports can be regenerated in batch. 
     
    Beside this repost you could setup item ABC Classification for similar calculation of items using revenue, gross margin, cost, ... to be processed periodically.
     
    Hope this is pointing in the right direction.

    Dear andreasraithel, thank you for a response, appreciated. However, my needs are not on aging, but on excess.
    I cannot find any report which looks at inventory in combination with current/future demand. I would expect that since D365Masterplanning does do nett requirements calculations, D365 can produce excess report in a similar fashion.
