ISV Work Order Repairs and the POS

We are working with a client who has an auto center and/or a small engine repair service desk in their retail stores. This client wants a more seamless way to help customers work orders by tracking what the service center use to make repairs (nuts, bolts, and other material). As parts are used in repairs, they want store inventory levels to update and the cost to customer be reflected in a work/service order to be paid by the customer.  Their systems today require using an offline work order system and then printing a ticket that gets paid in the front of the store, they are open to capturing payment at the service desk in the future. They are starting their deployment of D365 Commerce and are hoping to find an existing solution in the ISV ecosystem.

We have some ideas on how to extend the POS and/or leverage Power Platform to address. That said, is there an ISV who has addresses requirements like this? Any recommendations are appreciated!

I just recently worked on a client that had Hitachi plug in that was a repair module and it was extended to operate from POS.  I'm not sure if you can reach out to Hitachi and find out if you can purchase that plug in.

    Hi Scott,

As per my suggestion, you can go for enabling filed service integration with F&O, and below is the complete flow -:

    1. A work order is created in Field service and the same is synced to F&O as a sales order.
    2. After the work order status is closed, the worker will do invoicing of the sales order in F&O and the same is synced back to CE.
    3. On POS, the Cashier adds, the customer & clicks on the sales invoice operation button and select the invoice and pay.
    4. After EOD operation when the statement gets posted, the payment gets reflected in the customer account in F&O.

    Thanks & Regards
