When setting up Code mandatory for Chart of accounts using Dimension, I would like to find out if there is any difference between the value "No Code" or blank ?

    Hello,

No Code will enforce that no dimension can be posted to the G/L Account while leaving it blank have the flexibility to allow no dimension or any dimension to be posted.

    • Blank: When the Value Posting Type is left blank, it means the dimension is optional. You can post entries with or without assigning a dimension to the account. It provides flexibility, allowing the system to accept any dimension or no dimension at all, depending on the specific entry.

    • No Code: When set to No Code, it enforces that no specific dimension value can be posted to the account. so, the dimension Value Code is Blank.

if user try to assign dimension value, then system give error. The system will not allow any dimension to be attached to the account during posting, effectively blocking the use of dimensions with that account.

In short Blank offers flexibility, while No Code restricts the use of dimensions entirely for the G/L account.
