Hi All,

I have assigned default dimension to the G/L of Realized gain and unrealized gain account. When I post payment to vendor the fx realized gain is posted correctly but the dimension are coming from vendor and not from G/L. Can any of you confirm how to default the dimension from G/L so that I dont need to correct the dimension after posting.

I haven't tried this myself but if I were you I would try the following:

1. Search for Default Dimension Priorities

2. Set your Source Code as EXCHRATADJ (or the source code for your FX adjustments, it may be different than my demo data).

3. Set the first dimension priority as G/L Account:

4. Initilize Dimension Priorities

Then try to run your FX adjustments and validate the dimensions on the adjusting entries.

If that doesn't work then other users may be able to provide input. I believe you would have to look at a customization though.

Thanks Teagen for your kind reply. My scenario is making payment to Vendor and I wanted the Payable to debited with certain dimension which is flown from Vendor default dimension and same dimension for Credit Bank but for exchange rate difference I wanted the default dimension of the realized gain account of the currency. I have made the changes as per your suggestion however its still using the dimension of vendor.

In General Ledger Setup, check the Dimension Posting setting in the Application fasttab, you can change this to G/L Account Dimensions

Have you tested the job queue using "Run Once Foreground"?

Have any job queue log entries been created?

Hi Andrew,

That did the magic thank you very much. But just to confirm when I change dimension posting on application fasttab will that affect anything else other transactions of BC.

Any application postings, so that could include FX gains/losses but also rounding amounts
