Dear all,

I have setup a workflow which send an email when an order is created. The email template and work flow is using the Order Entity.

When setting up the Email template, how can I set the To field to be the Order Account Primary Contact email address ?

regards

serge

As you know Customer may be account or Contact in order record. To send email to primary contact of account you can choose customer ( Account) and Primary contact. Be aware this workflow will fail if customer type is contact

OK this works fine but now face to an other issue is that, when order is created, the email template is send when order is create, even if I disable the background process and enable ONdemand only.

    Any idea ?

    regards

Did you uncheck checkbox next to create?

Arghhh, I left the Record is created check box. I though that as soon it is set as Ondemand, this option gets not taken in account.

Back ground process and real -time process will be executed if you have any event enabled like create , update etc..

Rather than force the user to run the workflow on demand, if you want an email to be sent every time then I would add a two options field called "Ready for email" (or similar) and put this on the form as a checkbox. Run your workflow when the Order is created, but add a step at the beginning of the workflow (use Insert > Before) to wait until the checkbox field is checked.

Now your users can create the order, make whatever changes are needed, then just select the check box and save the record (or navigate away if you have left AutoSave enabled).

Similar alternative: edit your existing workflow and make it available as a child workflow, and activate. Write a new workflow that runs on Create, and use this to wait and then call the previous one.

In both cases you can choose to leave the previous one available on demand if you want to, but there is a risk of users sending the email twice over.
