RDLC report with SQL Report Builder

ReportReport

Hi,

I had to reinstall my PC and now I can't open RDLC report using SQL Report Builder anymore.
It only works with RDL files. What am I missing?
I know I was able to prior to reinstalling.
All our custom extensions are using RLDC as report layout extensions.

Thanks
-Julie

    This is standard behavior.
rdl can be opened with Report Builder, rdlc can only be opened through VS. But rdl can also be uploaded to BC, where it is exactly the same as rdlc.

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.
    ZHU

It's possible, we've been doing it for months already.
I just don't know why I can't do it anymore since I reinstalled Windows compared to my co-workers who can still do it

RDL files are used for server-based reporting and can be opened in SQL Report Builder or Visual Studio, while RDLC files are for local reporting and can only be opened in Visual Studio. In Business Central, both RDL and RDLC can be used as report layouts, with RDL being preferred for server-based reporting, although once uploaded to BC, they function similarly.
