actual number of journal entries does not equal the control number error

Hi,

I am unable to post journal batches on GP 2015. The error it gives me is "The batch cannot be posted. The actual number of journal entries does not equal the control number.

This is the first time I have come across this error. Has anyone else seen this error before. Whats even more strange is that in the batch ID window under status of the batches it is showing "unequal actual/control journal entry" status for all the batches.

Any help in resolving this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

    Hi,

I think I know the answer to this one. In the Posting Setup window (Setup>Posting>Posting) There is a setting that requires the actual number of journal entries be equal to the control number. The window looks like this:

On the batch entry window, there is a field with a control number next to the actual number field. The truth is, you can just change the control number to match the actual number. Of course, you need to be certain that the fact the number of entries doesn't match is OK. Here's the batch entry window showing the control number field.

Depending on your company's security settings, you may not have access to the setup window if you want to change it.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie
