Unable to tag records when creating posts in Timeline in Dynamics 365

Posted on by 14

Hello!

We use dynamics to manage a our app and are currently unable to tag team members and records in posts in timeline.  When adding a post to the timeline of a case or any other records I am unable to search for team member using @ or other records in Dynamics using #.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue?  Is Microsoft aware of bug?

Thanks,

Pat Joslin

Thanks for confirming Lorne - Just logged in this morning and see that tagging is back up and working.  MS must have resolve whatever issue.  Have a wonderful day!

Wahaj Rashid, it appears PatJ@secondharvest.ca is correct.  The "@mentions" and "#" mentions aren't working anymore. And, like you, it was working fine for me. It appears the rich text editor is throwing an error when the control is firsat called:

DevTools failed to load source map: Could not load content for https://{org}.crm3.dynamics.com/%7b637617586220000129%7d/webresources/cc_MscrmControls.RichTextEditor.RichTextEditorControl/RichTextEditorControl.js.map: HTTP error: status code 404, net::ERR_HTTP_RESPONSE_CODE_FAILURE

Note: {org} used to replace org name

Tried it in Edge, Chrome and FF in my prod and SBX with different users. Formerly, the page would wait for me to add a character following the @ before popping up the tagging experience, but now nothing happens.

Is it happening in all browsers or all users? I tried this in Edge and it works fine.

Also, try to open dev tools and try to tag a user, and observe if you see any console errors.

If you see any error (related to tag operation), please share it.

Basically, you need to identify if it is a browser compatibility issue (sometimes browsers are updated and things break).

    HI Wahja,

Appreciate the reply and that is how we go about tagging team and records, by using @ or # and then starting to type name.  It was working fine until this Monday 2021-07-16 when we noticed that no pop up search appears when entering @ and then typing name.  Below you can see that I am owner and in system but unable to tag myself in post.  Same result when looking to tag another team member in system or other records using #.  Nothing pops up to select.

    Thanks,

Just to add a tiny bit to Wahaj's response, this behaviour is by design.  The reason being that you could very well be just trying to add an email address in your note so MS figured it would be annoying if the application constantly popped up an "@mention" experience when you didn't want that.  Sometimes MS is ACTUALLY helpful when they're trying to be helpful, LOL!

    Hi,

    Thank you for your query.

You do not see any of the users or a specific user?

When we type '@' it will not show results unless we provide some search criteria:

Once I type 'Wahaj', I start getting results:

The same goes for using "#" to link records, type some letters and it should show the results.

If still is not working for you, please share your version and a screenshot to understand it better.

    Thank you,

    Wahaj
