Support for Navision 14

I'm trying to get an official view on support for Navision 14.  The Microsoft website says October 2025 but I have been told (by a big 4 consultancy) that this is likely to move out.

I am helping a company with a large Navision 14 system who are trying to figure out whether they need to rush an update to the latest version or whether they can be more measured with their upgrade.  Any official advice would be appreciated please, either in forum or directly.

Many thanks,

Mike

Good morning, afternoon, or evening depending on your location!

According to Microsoft's official lifecycle documentation, Dynamics NAV 2015 (Navision 14) is scheduled to reach end of support on October 14, 2025. After this date, Microsoft will no longer provide security updates, non-security updates, or technical support for the product.
Regarding the possibility of an extension beyond 2025, there is currently no official confirmation from Microsoft that the support timeline will be extended. While external consultancies may speculate on potential changes, the safest approach is to plan for the October 2025 deadline unless Microsoft announces an update.
    Upgrade Considerations
    • If your company relies heavily on Navision 14, it’s advisable to start evaluating migration options now rather than waiting for a last-minute rush.
    • Dynamics 365 Business Central is the natural successor to NAV and offers modern cloud-based capabilities.
    • If an immediate upgrade isn’t feasible, consider Extended Support options or custom support agreements with Microsoft partners.
For the latest updates, you can check Microsoft's official support lifecycle page or follow discussions in the Dynamics NAV community.

    Hope this helps!

One thing is likely, another things is definitely. It's a pretty big risk to take, considering it's soon to be October.
Have you discussed this with Microsoft?

I don't know if they have a Microsoft CSAM or Microsoft Specialist attached, but they can provide a binding answer.

I haven't heard of any delay.
It may be that some special customers will pay to support it for a period of time. But as far as I know, the cost is very high and it won't last long. And unless you have a very large number of users, Microsoft will not agree to it.
So please prepare for the date below.

PS: Microsoft has also removed upgrade support for BC14 in the current version.

    Thanks.
