How do I connect to my local demo server instance?
Hi,
if you want to test on-premise Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central you can download it from PartnerSource mbs.microsoft.com/.../bconpremdownload_2019_wave2
Best regards,
Renato.
I have done that, but when I launch the Windows app and it is asking for an address, nothing works. I am able to connect with the web client in a browser.
If you want to test onprem with the Windows Universal App, you can connect to it via localhost:port/BCInstance. If you want to connect from outside the local installation with a FQDN e.g. nav.businessdomain.com:port/BCINSTANCE, the url must be publicly available with a SSL cert, etc.
Thanks.
Yep - tried that. I am able to connect from my browser but not the app.
Hello,
This should work. What usually does work for me is I do use New-SelfSignedCertificate to create the SSL cert via PowerShell. For -Subject I do use a wildcard. E.g.: *.domain.com and -DnsName I use "*.domain.com", "127.0.0.1". "localhost", etc.
That does usually do the trick.
