Report not working since upgrade

Hi, I created report that is used everyday via the report wizard. We have just updated our test environment with the latest version. Everything went along smoothly, the only issue is after the update, I can no longer run this particular report.

I have the live environment still running it normally every day, but the newly updated test environment now tells there is a fetch XML error, and will no longer run this one particular report. Oddly doesn't seem to affect any other reports.

Please note, no coding was used to create this report, just the OOB report wizard.

    Hi, Workaround sorted it out, but never found out what the issue was.

    When (above) i mentioned i had tried recreating the report, and no change, that was via the report wizard using the existing report as a starting point but not overwriting.

    When i re-created the report from scratch, purposely not using the report wizard, and not using the failing report as template, the completely new version of the report worked fine from then on.

    Hello,

    did you every figure this out?  

    We recently upgraded and we are experiencing the exact same error.  

    When we reviewed the event logs, there were no discernable errors specific to this issue.  The logs were clean.

    The platform traces reveal nothing as they were clean as well.

    Hi Eturyu,

    One possibility is that you are missing security privileges for entities used in the FetchXML query of the report, but this does not seem likely since the problem only started occurring after the test environment update.

    I recommend contacting Microsoft Support about this issue.

    Thanks for the response, it is a generic message though..

    I'm not sure how to achieve the first two options you laid out, but I tried re-creating the report via the report wizard, and no change.

    Hi Eturyu,

    Is the FetchXML error generic or does it have a log attached?

    You have a few options:

    • Export the report and import it back into CRM.
    • Export the report, edit the report in SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and import the report back into CRM.
    • Recreate the report.
