Need to setup dimenssion with dimenssion

As we can set default dimension on any of my master through Default dimension available on master card page , through which dimension for that particular master would get set by default, For example on Customer C0001 I can set property PRO001 as default dimension , in the same way can we do it for Dimension1 with Dimension 2 for example Property as Dimension1(PRO001) could be set with Department as Dimension2(DEPT0001).

Are there any functionality to do it for Dimension to dimension in Business Central? please let us know.

You can set multiple default dimensions in customer, vendor and item templates. This is a nice assistance for new records.

There is nothing for transactional processing that would default the second dimension based on the first dimension.

There are apps on appsource which give you more options surrounding dimensions. Like this one: appsource.microsoft.com/.../pubid.isatech|aid.isa_dimensionmanagement|pappid.e1640487-67e3-48e9-887b-87e2f0e7d9ef

Templates could do it but the UX wouldn’t be great if you have many combinations. You’d need a template per combo. Data disaster if your dimensions change often

As mentioned by the two experts above, the standard does not have this feature.
This needs to be customized. You can use the solution provided by Josh, or contact Partner to recreate it according to your needs.

Hi,

In standard, Multiple Dimensions assigned in master and same attached in the transactional data also for analysis. But as per your requirement, functionality is not available in standard system. for more information pls consult with your development partner.
