Hi,

Is there any way, that when a quality order is created from Production order report as finished stage, inventory must not be blocked

Hi Sravan,

Could you please be precise about your requirement here? I believe the inventory will be blocked until the quality check is completed and cannot be used.

in Quality association you can suggest whether to block inventory or not

Hi Sravan,

I agree with Viki.

This is what the technet documentation is saying :

And on the quality order, the quantity is a mandatory field :

So for me you can't set a quantity of 0.

Hi Viki,

We are using catch weight functionality. Catch weight is case and Inventory unit is lbs.

1 case will have 500 lbs of material.

Normally In production process, quality people will take some negligible amount of material for quality testing during production order process. For example quality people will take 5 lbs of finished goods for quality testing.

But when quality order is created automatically from Production order, system is trying to block 1 case( since its a catch weight) of Inventory which contains 500 lbs of material. Quality order results will take weeks to receive,

So I don't want quality order to block inventory. I want to move case from one destination to another destination. Because of this blocking my full case is sitting in quality and not able to transfer to different place. Reality is Quality took only negligible amount of Inventory.

One way is to go to quality order manually and go to Inventory blocking and change catch weight to Zero which will unblock the inventory, even if the Quality order is in open status. Is there any way to unblock Inventory automatically when Quality order is created.

I uncheckmarked both the fields, still the inventory is getting blocked when quality order is created for QO quantity.

could you confirm the same quality association si being used,

what test sampling is seen on quality order?

also could u try with a fresh new order and then suggest
