Which certifications does my company need? GP VAR losing an employee.

Hi there, I work for a Microsoft Partner who resells Dynamics GP. We are losing an employee who has some Dynamics Certifications, and I'm trying to find out what certifications we will need to keep our license as a Microsoft Partner reseller. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Hi,

If you are talking about Dynamics GP, all of the certifications that I know of are no longer being offered. They have discontinued all of the exams. I think (I don't know because I am not a reseller) that qualifications depend on sales. I'm sure one of our resellers can chime in here, but the world has changed for Dynamics GP.

Hi,

I'm pretty sure that no certified consultant is required anymore, since all the MS certification are gone as Leslie mentioned.

I'm going to ask our VAR on what it takes to be a reseller for Dynamics GP.

You don't need any certifications to keep your license. I know a NAV partner who is still registered as a GP partner and they don't have any GP knowledge or resource.

As you have seen no certifications are required any more. We have teamed up with many GP resellers who have gone off to sell CRM or Dynamics 365 but still want to maintain their GP clients. You can team up with big, medium or small resellers. It all depends on the needs of your clients. Drop any of us a note if you would like to discuss partnering.
