Total On Hand vs Bin Contents - Qty Variance

Hello, MS Family.

The first screen shot below is from the Item Availability by Event and the second screen shot is from Bin Contents, which is filtered by location and Item.

The total quantity in Bin Contents is 2,707 and that is 1,920 less than what is listed in the Item Availability by Event.

I do not understand why there would be a different between the two, any help in understanding this variance would be greatly appreciated.

There are two versions of the bin contents page. One is via the item card, document lines, journals or bins from the location card. I find the other bin contents page helpful in this instance - search for it. It will show you how much of that item is still in process too. I expect that is the variance. Qty. on pick or to be put-away for example.

    Hello, Josh.

I discovered that the warehouse movement (in this instance it was a production put-away from one location to another) did not create the respective bin record in the bin contents page, which is something I have not seen before.

When you mentioned the two versions of the bin contents page, I then thought to access Bin Contents via the Item Card. In there, I manually added the Bin that the Item was moved to and after doing that, it populated with the quantity that was missing from the Bin Contents page.
