Cannot setup payment terms

I cannot believe I am seeking assistance with this one but unfortunately, I can not set up the payment terms in Dynamics GP. The moment I select 2% Net10 and tab off the other payment terms are automatically selected giving me no choice to create one, why it would be like that, could it because of any 3rd party product?

    Hi Kumar,

    Are you saying you can't add/modify the Payment Terms in the setup ?

    Administration >> Setup >> Company >> Payment Terms

    Or is it when you enter a new sales document and want to select an existing Payment Term ?

    Kumar,

    I suspect you have Field Level Security setup on the this Field.

    Check under Tools >> System >> Field Level Security.

    The "Security Mode" for the nominated field would be selected to "Restore After", and this would be typical of your situation.

    Have you previously set up the '2% Net 10' payment term? If it comes up after you type in the ID, can you change the existing values?

    maybe the user preferences are set to enter instead of tab

    I resolved mine. When I clicked on the "Add Days" field to enter a value a window popped up with the existing payment terms which was titled "Make a Selection". At the top of the pop-up window in the ribbon was a button that said "Temporary Disable". I clicked to disable and then selected "For this Window". I was then able to proceed and had no further issues. Hope this helps!

    The user preferences are accessed from the main GP menu :  

    Home >> User Preferences

    In the middle of the screen, there is section 'Entry Key' where you can chose either Enter or Tab..

    but I don't think that is going to resolve your problem..

    See the answer from the other user cvrlori that seemed to have found a way.

    Are you using Smartfill from Rockton Software? By default, their lookups will fill in the ID of an entity if what you type in matches only one entity. So for example, if I go to the Customer Maintenance window and I want to enter a new customer with an id of AARONFIT (weird I know), Smartfill will only find one customer in the sample company that matches that search and so will just fill it in.

    This feature can be disabled in the Smartfill Object configuration but the easiest workaround I've found is to just type a shorter ID, like 'A', allow the Smartfill search window to popup, and then Temporarily Disable like cvrlori1968. Or maybe the Rockton Software folks have a better idea.
