Replenishment parameters for MRP

Hi,

I have a pretty common scenario for one of my clients that I cannot seem to find the right configuration for the replenishment of their items:

For exemple, they have a vendor that has a minimum order quantity and also an order increment multiple. The minimum they can order for this vendor is 240 and then they can place additional orders in increments of 48. I also have a minimum stock level of 80 that they want to maintain at all times..

Any idea how to configure that specific scenario?
Thanks in advance

Yes — this scenario is supported natively in Business Central, and it can be configured directly as follows:

    • Set the Item Reordering Policy to Lot-for-Lot.

    • Set the Safety Stock Quantity on the Item (or SKU) to 80.

    • On the Item → Replenishment → Purchase (or Vendor–Item purchase setup):

      • Set Minimum Order Quantity to 240.

      • Set Order Multiple to 48.

    With this setup, MRP will:

    • Calculate the net requirement including the safety stock,

    • Enforce the vendor minimum order quantity,

    • Round the suggested order up to the nearest multiple of 48.

    No customization is required.

Thank you  for your reply. However, you solution won't work as the requisition worksheet could generate multiple lines for the same item and each line will have a minimum order quantity of 240, instead of increments of 48. The requisition worksheet does not consider that there are already other lines in the requisition worksheet and that the minimum of 240 is already reached,

Both the Planning Worksheet (better tool) and the Req. Worksheet (2nd choice) will honor the suggestions in the worksheet.  While I'm not a fan of AI generated responses, the post above has the correct settings to apply to the Item's Planning tab.
