I have a question surrounding business unit hierarchy in Dynamics - I have included a diagram showing our current hierarchy and the new proposed change - as we want to segment Marketing data from sales data.
Currently, we just have our default org (root business unit) called fta. The proposed change is to create a new parent business unit called 'Logistics UK' and have fta / marketing sat under that as child business units.
However, I'm struggling to set this up in our dev Dynamics environment as when I create the Logistics UK business unit it gets automatically set as a child business unit under fta. Is there a way to achieve what we are trying to set out to do?
Hi, It is possible to change the default org name to Logistics UK in the business unit entity. After that, create the fta business unit and the marketing business unit and set their parent business to Logistics UK. Change the parent business of the original business units to the new fta, thus the original business units are moved to the new fta business unit.
